Through The Fire
All at once, A silence did fall
As the matriarch fought for it all
Darkness in front, Fire behind
Her lost soul searching for a light to bind
All gathered round, love consuming the space
Not ready to say goodbye, to her angelic face
As the odds grew longer, pain and fear swallowed us all
As the inevitable approached, no one ready for last call
The journey she takes, although love abound
She must take alone, the trek that she’s found
Through the storm and the fire, she must carry on
To mount her attack and battle through dawn
As she stormed straight through hell, no longer weary
She was winning the war, we all saw it clearly
Escaping the fire, finding the light
Now that she’s home, all is put right
Because of your courage mom, this last time I write
In awe and celebration, of your arduous plight
We love you so much mom, you’ve had quite a year
Till the day we feel your embrace again
That time we approach without fear
