Obituary for Sharon LaRue Reynolds Broeils

Sharon LaRue Reynolds Broeils, age 67, of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of Charlotte, North Carolina and Savannah, Georgia passed away Saturday evening, January 27, 2018.

Sharon was born in Lakeland, Florida on June 29, 1950. She grew up among the orange groves in Kathleen, Florida, just north of Lakeland in a four room house with outdoor plumbing. She rose above her beginnings and joyously became the wife of Ralph Broeils on June 26, 1971. Sharon graduated from Kathleen High School in 1969 and Mr. Del’s Beauty School in Lakeland, Florida in 1970. Sharon and Ralph dated long distance during 1970 and became engaged on Christmas of 1970. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She worked as a hairdresser for many years. Sharon was an assistant in Bible Quizzing at church, assistant cheerleading coach for her two daughters and area manager for an advertising company. She loved her little red Miata, her homes in Weddington, North Carolina, Savannah, Georgia and Knoxville, Tennessee. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she loved buying Christmas dresses for her granddaughters, Patti and Katelyn. Some of her hobbies included crafts, making homemade bows for presents, creating special decorations and wrappings for presents, completing word search puzzles, watching soap operas and shopping. Before entering the hospital a few weeks ago, she went shopping for special soaps to give the nurses at the hospital. She loved family vacations to the beach at St. Augustine and Jacksonville, Florida and cruises.

Sharon is preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Stacy LaRue Broeils Pickard; parents, Roland Reynolds and Leola Morrell Reynolds; one sister, Wynonna Reynolds; two brothers, Jimmy and Reuben Reynolds.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ralph Broeils; daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Paul Marion of Saluda, North Carolina; son-in-law, Bradley Scott Pickard and wife, Laura of Oriental, North Carolina; four grandchildren, William Pickard, Patricia Pickard, Katelyn Marion and Lawson Marion; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Carol Reynolds Glenn and Janet Reynolds all of Lakeland, Florida; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Diane and David Kluttz; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Pam Broeils all of Charlotte, North Carolina; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
