Obituary for Charlotte Elizabeth Curtis

Charlotte Elizabeth Curtis of Knoxville died on Monday November 20th, 2017.

She was born in Maryville, TN on Mach 23rd 1939 to the late Lowell Merlin Curtis and Sara Isabel Curtis. Charlotte was a long time active member of Church of the Savior UCC where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Charlotte attended Berea College and taught in KY before returning to Knoxville to attend University of Tennessee where she received a Master’s degree in music education. Charlotte taught in the Knoxville school system until she retired.

Preceding Charlotte in death were two brothers, Lowell and Bobby Curtis. She is survived by two brothers John Thomas Curtis of Maryville and Kenneth Curtis (Connie) of Baltimore, MD and niece Gwen Breeden (Charles) and nephews Daryl and Timmy Curtis and special friend R.J. Seale. Charlotte took great joy in her friends, church, music and she loved her cats. She played bridge for many years.

A memorial service will be held at Church of the Savior on Tuesday, November 28th at 3:30 PM. Memorial gifts can be made to Church of the Savior, 934 N. Weisgarber Road. Knoxville TN 37909 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
