Obituary for Ronnie Lee Pickering

Ronnie Lee Pickering, 79, of Farragut, passed away peacefully at his home on August 25, 2018.

Ronnie was raised in Washington County and was a graduate of East Tennessee State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired after more than 40 years of service with the United States Postal Service. He was a member of First Farragut United Methodist Church, and an avid sports fan and supporter of the University of Tennessee Volunteers. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Haywood and Fern Pickering of Jonesborough, and his grandson, Garrett Lee Layman.

He is survived by his spouse of 30 years, Susan Vance Pickering of Farragut, son Ronnie Lee Pickering, Jr. (Karla) of Greeneville; daughter Karen Burns (Danny) of Hoover, Alabama; daughter Kathy Carney (James) of Thompson Station; and step- daughter Holly Layman (Marty) of Farragut, and one brother, Mack Pickering (Becky) of Jonesborough.
Ronnie is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Coti Martin; Zachery, Ethan and Mason Carney; Noah Burns; and Olivia Layman, and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Monte Vista Memorial Gardens in Johnson City.
