Lee Thomas Van Dyne, age 26, of Farragut, died unexpectedly on Monday, August 27, 2018. He is survived by dearly loved family: his parents Kirk Van Dyne and Patricia (Moore) Van Dyne, brothers Charles and Tyler, nephew William, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, as well as close friends he considered family.
Lee was a graduate of Farragut High School, class of 2010, where he was a standout football player and still holds the record for Career Receiving Yards (2421 yards) and Career Receptions (148 receptions, 18 touchdowns), as well as the Individual Season Receiving Record (1072 yards). He also played baseball and soccer for the Admirals. He loved sports; his years playing with the Barn Bats continued to be one of his greatest joys.
The room seemed brighter when Lee was in it, and there was no greater joy than hearing his laughter. He was passionate about life, about people, and good conversation. He had a peacemaker’s heart. He was a naturally gifted pianist, and gave the best bear hugs in the world. He spent his last days with close friends, enjoying games, white water rafting, and lots of laughter. He will be extraordinarily missed, and there will always be an empty chair at our table.
A ceremony honoring Lee’s life will be held on September 8, 2018, from 12noon-2pm, at Milestones Event Center 11909 Kingston Pike located next door to Click Funeral Home Farragut.
