Obituary for Yolanda Antonia Nunez Wheaton

Yolanda Antonia Nunez Wheaton, age 84, of Knoxville, formerly of Cookeville went to be with the Lord early Friday morning, January 26, 2018.

Yolanda was born in Cuba and moved to the United States in 1960. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. She retired from Red Kap Industries after 30 years of service. Yolanda loved to sew, flower gardening and cooking the authentic Cuban food that she learned from her mother.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan Nunez and Clara Casalas Nunez; brother, Giraldo Nunez.

She is survived by her sons, John Wheaton and wife Jolie of Cookeville, Anthony Wheaton of Knoxville; grandchildren, Emmie, Max, Jack and Celia Rae; sister, Onelia Maxwell and husband Bob; niece, Lisa; nephew, Bobby and wife Kim; grand nephews, Chad and Brett.

A Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 2nd at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Miguel Velez celebrant. The family will receive friends following the Mass in the Parish Hall. Family and Friends will gather at 11am on Saturday at St. John Neumann Catholic Church Columbarium for inurnment.
