Obituary for Wayne East

Wayne East, age 62, of Knoxville passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017, surrounded by family after a year long illness. He was a son, brother, husband, father and successful entrepreneur.

Wayne was born in Birmingham, Alabama and moved to Knoxville in 1979. He was a pioneer in the Caterpillar parts industry for over 38 years; Wayne’s strong work ethic inspired him to create “Off Road Equipment Parts” in 1996, and with the help of a dedicated management team, Off Road has grown to over 45 employees that share his core values. Wayne valued his employees and provided lunch daily; family, friends, and customers were always welcome.

He leaves a loving wife of 32 years, Joni; daughter, Lori East and bonus daughter, Katina Rose (Kevin); father, Duane; stepmother of 45 years, Elsie; sister, Tracey; nephew, Bryan; two step brothers; two step sisters and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Faye and sister, Lori.

Wayne’s Celebration of Life service will be held on his birthday, October 6th at Bridgewater Place, 205 Bridgewater Road, Knoxville with visitation from 5 to 6 p.m. followed by a service at 6.
