Obituary for Renaldo Lavell Bell

RENALDO LEVELL BELL – was born in Rockford, Illinois on December 16, 1986 to Joseph Bell and Linda D. Tucker. He had one sibling.

Giving his life to Christ at an early age, Renaldo joined the Macedonia Baptist Church in Rockford, Illinois. Renaldo attended Farragut High School and later transferred and graduated from Karns High School in Knoxville, Tennessee where he played football and was enrolled in the Army ROTC program. Upon graduating, Renaldo was commissioned to serve in the United States Army. Assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment (2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York) Renaldo served his country and fought in the Iraq War from May 2005 until July 2012 receiving an honorable discharge. While serving Renaldo received the following commendations: Iraq Campaign Medal with Three Campaign Stars; Army Commendation Medal (2 Award); Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award); Meritorious Unit Commendation; Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award); National Defense Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Non-commission Officer. He also received the Professional Development Ribbon; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon; Combat Infantryman Badge; Parachutist Badge; Expert Marksmanship Badge; Rifle Bar and Driver and Mechanic Badge.

Returning home to Knoxville after serving his country Renaldo enrolled in and attended Pellissippi State Community College to study Theatre.

Renaldo was a devoted father to Khloe N. Bell; and stepchildren: Jaxen L. Bell; Natalie Kidd and Savannah Kidd. Renaldo was a devoted friend to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his best friend and wife, Megan D. Bell; great-grandparents, Mary Louise and Willie Burton; and uncle, Christopher Jerome Tucker.He leaves to cherish his fondest memory, his children, Khloe N. Bell; Jaxen L. Bell; Natalie Kidd, and Savannah Kidd; mother, Linda D.Tucker of Knoxville, Tennessee; father, Joseph Bell of Rockford, Illinois; sister, Delshunna (David) Huckleby of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandmother, Evelyn Tucker of Knoxville, Tennessee; uncles, Walter Tucker, Jr. of Rockford, Tennessee and Michael Craig Tucker of Knoxville, Tennessee; aunts, Valerie Taylor of Knoxville, Tennessee and Lauren (Terry) Walker of Rockford, Illinois; nephews, Jalen Tucker, Darius Huckleby and Deasean Huckleby of Knoxville, Tennessee; step-father, Booker T. Leslie; dearest friends, Candie and Donald Laster and a host of cousins as well as other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 noon on Thursday at New Covenant Baptist Church, 10319 Starkey Lane, Knoxville, Tennessee 37932 followed a Celebration of Life at 12 noon with Rev. Frederick Brabson officiating.

Interment will follow in the East Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery with full military honors conferred by the U S Army and the East Tennessee Veteran’s Honor Guard.
