Obituary for Mary Koteski St. John

Mary Koteski St John, age 73, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018. She was born in Astoria Long Island, NY to Ray and Charlotte Koteski who preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of Knoxville Catholic High and The University of Tennessee. Mary was an ACBL tournament bridge player. Other interests included gardening, traveling, and sports. The rainbow in Mary’s life were her children and grandchildren; she was very proud of them.

She was a recent resident at Renaissance Terrace Assisted Living in Knoxville and loved all the friends she met there. The family would like to express our appreciation to the administration and staff at Renaissance for their outstanding care of Mary.

She is survived by her son - Chris St. John (Shelley);daughter - Sandy Hippeli (Anthony);sister - Frances Koteski McGaha (Jim);sister - Charlotte Higginbotham (Richard);sister - Cathy Mikkola (Bob);grandchildren - Parker, Casey, Mercer, Slade, Morgan, Cooper, and Maxx; and Bob St. John, father of Chris and Sandy.

The family will receive friends at 9:30 am on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 1041 N Central Street, Knoxville, TN 37917 followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am. Private burial will take place at a later date. Donations may be sent to Women’s and Alzheimer’s Organization, http://womenandalzheimers.org or charity of your choice in memory of Mary St. John.
