Obituary for Margie Mae Dill

Margie Mae Dill, age 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus, Friday morning January 26.

Margie was born in the small coal mining town of Briceville, TN near Lake City. Her father Thomas White worked in the coal mines while her mother Alice White was raising four daughters and one son. She met her husband, William Kelly Dill while he was stationed at a nearby air force base. Daughter Pamela was born in Newfoundland Canada and son Bill in Texarkana Texas.

They moved from Syracuse New York in the 90’s to Mckenzie Tennessee after Kelly retired from UPS and Margie from General Motors after working there for 24 years. Margie moved to Knoxville in 2005 after Kelly passed away in 2004.

Margie was always a Tennessee girl at heart. She loved Loretta Lynn as they both loved country music and both were coal miner’s daughters. She has requested that her ashes be spread in the Tennessee River. She loved spending time with her kids and grandchildren as they were the most important thing in her life.

Margie’s brother Leroy White and sister Mary Helen, whom she cared much about, preceded her to heaven a few years ago.

She is survived by her sisters, Doris Lamb of Lake City TN and Pat Lovely of Powell and JoAnn Cornwall of Knoxville.

She is missed very much by her daughter Pamela, son-in-law Greg McCuen, son William (Bill) Dill Jr., Michelle Howe of Syracuse New York; grandchildren, Ryan McCuen, Joy McCuen, Josh McCuen, Amber Sliter and husband Stephen Sliter, and William K Dill III. Amber is expecting Margie’s great grandchild Grayson William Sliter in April.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday February 2nd at the Click Funeral Home Middlebrook Chapel followed by a Celebration of Life at 7 p.m. with Rev. Jamie Goldenberg officiating.

Click Funeral Home, 9020 Middlebrook Pike is serving the Dill family.
