Obituary for Joseph Edwin Bradley

Joseph Edwin Bradley, Age 86, b. 1932 Providence, RI, died peacefully March 29, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joy Bristow Bradley, 3 children: daughter, Katherine Bradley Cakmes, sons, Greg Bradley and wife Nancy, David Bradley and wife Amanda; 4 grandchildren: Allison Bradley, Rebecca Bradley, Joseph Cakmes, Alexandra Bradley; his sister Jenny Ryan of Fall River, Massachusetts; loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, father and brother; infant daughter, Amy Susan Bradley.
Joe always put his wife first and instilled that respect in his kids. He loved to read and had a wonderful mind. He loved to fish, camp and body surf the waves at the beach. He travelled the U.S. extensively with work and in later years with his wife, Joy. He remembered everywhere he’d been and could remember roadways as though looking at a map. Joe served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He attended Appalachian State, N.C. for his Bachelor’s Degree and continued in later years for his Master’s in Education. He worked at Wang Laboratories selling early desktop computers and calculators. He went on to become a partner in Protean Instruments. He was loved by many and will be missed.
A celebration of life is scheduled for April 4th, 2PM on Wednesday at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. A receiving of friends will follow at 4PM, Community Center at Shannondale, 1507 New Providence, Maryville.
