Obituary for Earl Kirkland "Kirk" Haning

Earl Kirkland Haning, age 68, passed away on the morning of August 9, 2017, at his home in Knoxville. He was born in Wheeling, WV and was a graduate of Mt. St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Maryland where he received his Bachelors Degree.
Kirk worked in management for Tire America and National Tire and Battery for over 30 years, and was currently employed by the Gettysvue Golf and Polo Club. He was a member of St. John XXIII Parish at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golfing and volunteering for the Smoky Mountain Service Dogs organization and Ladies of Charity.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Atwood W. Haning and Suzanne Hennen Haning, and brother Atwood W. (“Bink”) Haning.
Kirk is survived by his wife of 37 years, Barbara Maruish Haning; children Becca Haning Lewis of Warner Robins, GA, and Michael Haning of Knoxville; siblings Morgan (Debbie) Haning and Anne W. Haning (Debbie Michaels), of Wheeling, WV; grandchildren Brynnlee and Kayla Lewis.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at 2:00pm at St. John XIII University Parish at the University of Tennessee, 1710 Melrose Place in Knoxville.
