Obituary for Diane Johnson Frisbie

Diane Johnson Frisbie, 78, of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of Plainfield, Indiana passed away on August 12, 2017 at her home.

Diane dedicated her life to serving others as a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, a former member of Plainfield United Methodist Church and as a Stephen Ministry Leader. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In her spare time she worked numerous word and number games and puzzles per day to keep her mind nimble, was an avid reader and enjoyed music of all kinds. Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Harold Johnson and Alta Strickler Johnson; and her brother, Larry Johnson.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Walter Frisbie; daughter, Lisa Frisbie of Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Amy Frisbie of Colorado; grandchildren, Kailin Nguyen, Edie Frisbie and Sylvie Frisbie; sister, Sharon Johnson; brothers, Rev. Charles Johnson, Stephen Johnson and David Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Cokesbury United Methodist Church on Saturday August 26 at 2 p.m., with Brent Ronald officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cokesbury United Methodist Church (www.cokesbury.tv) or Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance (www.ocrfa.org).
