Obituary for Charlene LeMay

Charlene LeMay, age 72, passed away on December 14, 2017, in Knoxville. She was member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Charlene was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first. She received a BS degree from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and an MSN degree from University of Tennessee. Charlene practiced Nursing in various cities, including Chicago, Ft. Lauderdale, and Washington DC, before moving to Knoxville. Charlene taught Nursing at Roane State Community College for 26 years, where she touched the lives of many students. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Florence Luckhardt, and father, Charles Frederick Luckhardt. Charlene is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard LeMay; children, Amy LeMay, Richard LeMay, Jr.; grandchildren, Jane, Aven, and Trey; brother, Charles F. Luckhardt, Jr (Barbara); sister, Michelle Miller (Larry); several nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:30am-1pm at St. John Neumann Catholic Church with a funeral mass to immediately follow. Burial will be at 2pm on Monday at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
