Obituary for Beatrice (Bea) Mae Williams Manske

Beatrice (Bea) Mae Williams Manske, age 96, died peacefully in Farragut on Friday, November 10, 2017.

Bea was born in 1921 in the town of Villenova, New York to Ralph and Ruth Edick Williams. She grew up in South Dayton, New York and after completing high school there, moved to Dunkirk, New York where she graduated from Business College and met her future husband, Richard (Dick) W. Manske. The couple married in 1942. When Dick returned from WWII, the couple moved to Rochester, New York where they resided for many years. Dick taught and served as a school principal in Rochester City Schools until his retirement. After raising their daughter, Bea worked for a local bank. Dick died in 1989. Ten years later in 2000, Bea relocated to Farragut to live closer to her daughter and son-in-law. She loved both new adventures and ordinary days making many new friends during the last seventeen years in Tennessee. One special adventure was traveling to Normandy with her good friend Maggie to visit the place both their husbands landed 50 years earlier. Bea especially enjoyed her Glen Abbey neighbors and special friends at Farragut Presbyterian Church who brought much joy and happiness to her life.

In addition to her husband, Bea was preceded in death by her parents and her four younger siblings, Donald, Eileen (Rose), Eugene and Dorothy. Daughter and son-in-law Christine Manske Lee and Charles R. (Rod) Lee of Oak Ridge, Tennessee survive her. She also leaves two sisters-in-law Alice and Helen Williams of South Dayton, New York, a special cousin Bob Harris of Dunkirk, New York and several nieces and nephews.

The family expresses appreciation to Amedisys Hospice and L and L Sweet Home Care for their compassionate care.

Funeral Services will be held at Farragut Presbyterian Church, on Tuesday November 14, 2017 at 4:30 pm with Reverend Matthew R. Nieman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Farragut Presbyterian Church, 209 Jamestowne Blvd, Knoxville, TN 37934.
